Recent Art Acquisitions
Three artworks have been added to the Fullerton College Art Collections, thanks to the generosity of our Artists in Residence, Lesley Dill and Abel Alejandre. Our 2016 Artist in Residence, Lesley Dill donated a mixed media sculpture during her residency. The poetic work, Horse Dress Puppet, 2015, includes text spelling out the Leo Tolstoy quote, "I made my little horse set off again at a slow trot toward the uncarpeted smash".
During his 2017 residency, Abel Alejandre donated two works of art examining masculinity, A Certain Path, and Saint Sebastian. A Certain Path demonstrates Alejandre's signature drawing technique in this ink and graphite work on gessoed board. In his demonstrations, he carved a woodblock for Saint Sebastian, which was printed by the Fullerton College Art Press in collaboration with the artist.
