The Art History/Museum Studies Associate in Arts Degree prepares students to transfer to a university that offers bachelor's degrees in Art History, especially those that offer a specialization in Museum Studies. A bachelor's degree in Art History/ Museum Studies provides a foundation for gallery and museum careers and/or post-graduate study. This program requires a total of 18-19 units of required courses and restricted electives. This degree requires a total of 18-19 units in the major, in addition to other degree requirements.

Student Learning Outcomes

Outcome 1: Write a critical analysis of an artwork seen in person. Describe the artwork, demonstrate knowledge of art historical vocabulary, and analyze the artwork using art historical methodologies.

Outcome 2: Demonstrate a beginning level understanding of exhibition design.
