Marlo Bartels: Artist in Residence

The Laguna Beach-based artist works in ceramic tile; shaping, forming, and glazing the clay elements by hand. The ceramic objects and furniture made by artist Marlo Bartels playfully seduce the viewer into literally relaxing in it and with it. Bartels' trademark tile swirls around his objects in endlessly random pattern, activating the surface with a centrifugal force seemingly impossible to achieve with tile. The exhibition will be accompanied by an artist lecture and a series of demonstrations as part of the distinguished Fullerton College Artist in Residence program.
