Joan Heim received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree Magna Cum Laude from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her background includes working as a professional consultant and freelance graphic designer/photographer. She has been a graphic design and computer graphics instructor for the past ten years and since 2001 an adjunct instructor at Fullerton College. Past achievements include the start and development of a successful graphic design and computer graphics curriculum at the Orange County High School of the Arts (2000-2004) and instructor: Pasadena City College JTPA Multimedia Design Program. Past teaching recognition includes student recognition by Ed Net California Community Colleges for three years for the Media Art Awards; the 46th Annual Congressional Art Recognition Award; 2002 - the Bowers Kidseum Summer Camp Program brochure; 2002 logo competition winner - the Santa Ana Downtown Business Watch. Several of her students have transferred and graduated from top graphic design schools.
